Beeswax Taper Sizes and Holder Fit: Which Holder Fits Our Tapers?
Short answer: Our hand-dipped beeswax tapers are about 7/8 inch across at the base, which fits most standard candlestick holders. Hand-dipped bases vary slightly, so a holder that grips the candle upright gives the best result.
What size are your taper candles?
Our Taper Pairs come in four heights. Each pair is two hand-dipped candles made with pure Canadian beeswax and a pure cotton wick.

Will your tapers fit my candle holders?
Most standard candlestick holders are made for a base of about 7/8 inch. Our taper pairs are traditionally hand-dipped to a 7/8 inch guide, so an extra dip can leave a base slightly thicker or thinner. If a taper doesn't sit snugly, gently softening the wax at the base helps it fit.
Why does holder fit matter?
A taper that leans will drip. When a candle drips, it's almost always a draft or a holder that isn't gripping it upright. Check that the candle sits straight and snug, and burn it somewhere without moving air.
Which holder for the small tapers?
Hanukkah Candles are sized for a menorah or a suitable candleholder. Celebration and Birthday candles should go in a suitable candleholder.

Do all tapers have the same base? The Taper Pairs are about 7/8 inch at the base. The Elegant, Celebration and Hanukkah candles are about 3/8 inch at the base, and the Birthday candles about 1/4 inch. Do you sell taper holders? Not at this time. Our tapers are made to the 7/8 inch standard most holders use. How do I stop drips? Keep the candle out of drafts and make sure the holder grips it upright.
