Natural Lip and Body Balm

We are sharing our recipe for our pure natural lip and body balm today.  We have decided to discontinue this natural product, and focus on another thing we love - making good candles!

Our natural lip balm has always been simple; beeswax, organic shea butter, sweet almond oil, vitamin E and organic essential oil of peppermint.  That's it!  No sparkles, no chemicals - just simple.

We have encouraged everyone to use this natural balm not just on dry lips, but on dry hands, elbows, a healing boo-boo - any place you want a little bee-good skin love.

What to do:

In a very clean working area - melt together (in a bain-marie) over medium heat:

75 ml sweet almond oil (cosmetic grade), 75 g pure beeswax, 52 g organic shea butter (cosmetic grade), 6 capsules Vitamin E, 20 drops organic essential oil of peppermint.

This will yield approximately 20 x 7g (1/4 oz) containers of natural lip balm.  Great for holiday gifts, bridal shower gifts, teacher gifts - and of course for you!

Another great source for ideas of what to do with magic beeswax is the book "Beeswax Alchemy" by Peter Ahnert.

We found the Voyageur Soap and Candle shop in the Vancouver area, a good source for organic ingredients.

Have a bee-utiful day!
